Name: Leitoria Elaine Talataina Camera Ready!! Lights Ready!! Hmm, I think there something missing Oh I know the audience!! Ok, now we’re ready. Where is that awful smell coming from? It smells like no one has taken a shower in years. Come on guys we better get ready we're on stage in 5 minutes GO!GO!GO!. The smell of perfume is as sweet as a flower. I’m feeling butterflies in my tummy churning like I’m gonna spew up. As soon as I take one step up on the stage I feel excited and impressive. BOOM!! BANG!! Goes the drum beat. Here we go just pretend that no one is there like during practice time. I was about to cry because I remembered my ancestor did these ones. People shouting out my name as loud as an elephant’s trumpets. I’m smiling hard out like my face is going to crack. It was so fun being on stage hopefully, I can do it next year at college.

This Is My Corinna School Experience. "Why fit in, when you were born to stand out" I am a very confident person because when I first started Corinna School I was shy but now that I’m a year 8 I’ve built my confidence even more by stepping up as a leader. I am a leader in the Samoan Polyfest group because I was the one who taught the dances to the girls and I was also chosen to be the Taupou. If you don’t know what is a Taupou is here is the meaning of it,  A Taupou i s a ceremonial hostess selected by a high chief of a Samoan village from the young girls of his household, elevated to a high rank, and charged with the formal reception and entertainment of visitors. I am a leader in the Excel Singing Group because I have been chosen to be I always get chosen to be on stage to do this and that because that’s how I get my confidence by standing on the stage and to speak loud like I did at the Samoan Speech Competition. I am good at listening to other peop

Leitoria's Skipping Learning Story

Image
SKIPPING  LEARNING  STORY In Room Tuakana we have been practicing our routine for skipping. My group has been working really hard to practice our routine. When I first started skipping all I knew what to do was jump but then as soon as Mrs. Ardelle told me if I could do the criss cross I had a try of it but then I suck but she told me to practice and practice until you get it right. So I keep on practice and practice until I have finally got it I showed to my group and they were really proud of me. My group was really good at working as a team because we had lots of ideas of what skipping strategies we can do. We have been working really hard on our skipping routine because we’ve been practicing this term. By: Leitoria Elaine Talataina

Leitoria's Science Learning Story

Image
For one week we have been in the Lab In A Box. Lab in a Box Is a laboratory inside a big freight container and Suz is the teacher.               Suz showed us how to make elephant toothpaste and other cool stuff like the dry ice. I was good at observing things carefully by staying focused because I didn’t ignore distractions. I noticed that other people weren’t focusing on when Suz was telling us something really important I need to work on Sharing my ideas clearly and confidently to help me understand the science Suz was telling us about. My favorite part of the science experiment was the Dry Ice because its was fun how Suz grabbed the flower and the marshmallow and put it in the tank where there is ice inside and when Suz bought it back out it was frozen. I felt so excited because as soon as Miss Ardelle and Kate Collins told us a bout this cool technology thing that was coming I felt like this was my chance to proved how to be a scientist. POLYFEST LEARNING STORY The Success Criteria that I have achieved was Performing with confidence and flair for the audience because as soon as my group was on stage I felt butterflies in my tummy, but then as soon as I stood up and danced I felt more confident. My next Success Criteria that I have also achieved was sharing my skills by teaching others the dance move because they needed help by following the actions carefully and they don’t messed up. As soon I take my first foot on the stage step I was feeling proud and I’m smiling hard out like my face is going to crack.                                                  The Success Criteria that I have achieved was Performing with confidence and flair for the audience because as soon as my group was on stage I felt butterflies in my tummy, but then as soon as I stood up and danced I felt more confident.
