Leitoria's Legacy Statements
This Is My Corinna School Experience.
"Why fit in, when you were born to stand out"
I am a very confident person because when I first started Corinna School I was shy but now that I’m a year 8 I’ve built my confidence even more by stepping up as a leader.
I am a leader in the Samoan Polyfest group because I was the one who taught the dances to the girls and I was also chosen to be the Taupou. If you don’t know what is a Taupou is here is the meaning of it, A Taupou is a ceremonial hostess selected by a high chief of a Samoan village from the young girls of his household, elevated to a high rank, and charged with the formal reception and entertainment of visitors.
I am a leader in the Excel Singing Group because I have been chosen to be
I always get chosen to be on stage to do this and that because that’s how I get my confidence by standing on the stage and to speak loud like I did at the Samoan Speech Competition.
I am good at listening to other people’s ideas and using them as inspiration for my own learning because if I’m stuck on something I can get ideas from them to help my learning.
There was one thing I was focusing on “Showing leadership”. I was always confident from the day I started. I was able to step up and introduce myself to other kids without feeling insecure.
A great experience for me at Corinna School is that I’m always confident to do anything e.g singing, dancing, tackle big boys down when we have rugby league.
My next steps is that I would like to improve more about what I have learned at Corinna School and share it with the people in Porirua College.
